Re-Design! - $35

Instructor - Nicole Samuels
Saturday, Feb. 25
9am-12pm

Sketches can be a fabulous source of inspiration in designing your layouts. They provide an easy starting point for planning out your page elements. However, you don't need a huge library of layout sketches to be a design diva! Just a handful of basic sketches will provide an endless variation of layout ideas. In this fun, fast-paced class, we'll create THREE very different layouts from one simple sketch. You'll learn how to adapt and "re-design" a sketch to better match your style, product selection, and photos. The hardest part of scrapping is often just figuring out where to put everything. This class will give you tools on how to use simple sketches as a quick springboard to fabulous pages.

Supply List:
trimmer
scissors
adhesive
adhesive foam/pop dots
paper piercer
paper needle
border punch (scallop or any other design)
1 inch circle punch (slightly larger or smaller is okay)

This would also make a fabulous heritage album for documenting your grandparent's love story or a fun newlywed gift for a couple to fill out on their own. It's all about LOVE!

November Retreat Instructors

Here are the bios of our very talented designers and instructors for November's Retreat! We will be releasing the class line-up next week via email and the blog. Registration will be open to the November Retreat Attendees only and then we will be opening registration to the public. We have seen the sneaks of some of the projects and can't wait for November to get here!!!

Lisa M Patterson

I am a mixed media artist living and working in Bowie, MD with my wonderful husband, Scott and our cocker spaniel named Beau.

For as long as I can remember, my most cherished possessions have been my art supplies; crayons, paints and paper.  Combine that with my passion for collecting vintage ephemera, fabric and old photographs and it's easy to see where my art begins. Saving pieces of history and finding ways of incorporating them into my projects fascinates and inspires me.  I love creating mini books and three dimensional pieces of art and sharing my knowledge with other artists.

Lisa designs for Ten Second Studios and is also a Design Team Specialist for Authentique.  You can visit her blog here http://www.lisapatterson.typepad.com/.

Nicole Samuels

Nicole Samuels lives in Williamsburg, Virginia with her husband, Brian, and 4 children, Connor, Jack, Cate, and Will. She started scrapbooking about 10 years ago, never imagining how this "hobby" would impact her life. Since then she's taught classes at local scrapbook stores, GASC and Creating Keepsakes Conventions, met a ton of amazing women who share this passion, become a wannabe photographer, and burdened her children with more albums then they will ever be able to move.

Nicole is currently on the design team for Studio Calico and BasicGrey and her work has been published in Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbooks, Etc., Scrapbook Trends, Cards, and several idea books and online newsletters. You can visit her blog at http://nicolesamuels.wordpress.com.

Tessa Wise

Tessa Wise lives in Northern Virginia with her husband Jeremy and two little girls, Zoey and Natalie. She has been obsessed with scrapbooking and card making since 2000, when she created her first mini albums as Christmas gifts. Tessa started teaching locally about 5 years ago and currently is part of the Scrapdoodles team. She has been published in Cards Magazine as well as some web-based paper crafting publications. Tessa was a Stampin' Up! Artisan Award winner in 2010. She was also a runner up in Paper Crafts Magazine's 2011 Gallery Idol contest. Tessa is a self confessed technique junkie and loves trying new things with her tools and supplies. You can visit her blog here http://craftygrl.blogspot.com/
